CBS evening news came out with a story that I thought was really incredible (I guess I’m a sucker for these type of things). A lady over 60 years removed from the dissappearance of her husband in World War 2, still hadn’t found out about what happened to her husband, until a family member looked into it for her. check it out.
I couldn’t help but see a picture of the Gospel. The french village was so thankful to the man for being able to avoid the town while his plane was falling. It reminded me of Roman 5:6-8,
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Billions of people on this worth are walking around without the knowledge of Christ’s sacrifice. The God of the universe came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross. And what should never cease to astonish us is the fact that he didn’t die for good people, friends or allies. He died for enemies. All of us are born enemies of God, we all have exchanged worship of God for worship of his creation (Romans 1:25) and deserve death and hell (Romans 6:23). But he demonstrated his love! Are you thankful? are you willing to admit your sin and the fact that you deserve hell? And are you willing to humble yourself and give your life to the one who created you?
