Pope Francis Says Muslims are Brothers and Sisters

Pope Francis, In a sermon preached in front of many muslims at a mosque in the Central African Republic, expressed very clearly his thoughts about islam he said that Muslims are our brothers and sisters. Later that day he posted this on twitter.

It is time for born again Christians to come to grips with the fact that this man worships a different God. Pope Francis MuslimsThere is simply no excuse for a born again christian to have any doubts about this anymore. It is not new for this Pope to say controversial things. Not too long ago he claimed that Atheists would go to heaven too. He said “The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! ‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists. Everyone!” Roman Catholic theology, because it is works based, puts a great emphasis on doing good, and therefore is not evangelistic. For many centuries the devil used the Roman Catholic Church to murder anyone who didn’t agree with them, but now it seems he has shifted his strategy to being ecumenical, even Mother Theresa said,

“We never try to convert those who receive aid from Missionaries of Charity to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God’s presence and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become for this better men — simply better — we will be satisfied. It matters to the individual what church he belongs to. If that individual thinks and believes that this is the only way to God for her or him, this is the way God comes into their life — his life. If he does not know any other way and if he has no doubt so that he does not need to search then this is his way to salvation.”

This is a common belief within Roman Catholicism, when a college roommate told me that he was becoming Roman Catholic, because “faith alone is found nowhere in scripture”, he went on to say that “of course, we will be shocked, by just how many people make it to heaven. The God of Roman Catholicism is much less likely to send people to hell” in response to a question about whether Mormons and Jehova’s witness and even Muslims will be saved. Muslims and Christians couldn’t teach anything more different. They deny Jesus is God and teach that he didn’t actually die on the cross. If this is true then Jesus never resurrected and in 1 Cor 15:12-19 paul says, “if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith”. It is impossible to go to heaven except through Christ (John 14:6) but not just any Christ, the actual Christ that is sitting at the right of the Father as we speak. I totally get it, in our nature we seek to want to make God less just, we want to make Him into a God in our own image. We do this in what is masked as love and a desire for all to be saved, in an attempt to be liked by all people. In doing so we end up trashing Christ, His sacrifice and His word.

When will Christians wake up? When will we start evangelizing our Catholic friends? How many more outrageous statements does this Pope have to make before you wake up to realize Roman Catholics and evangelicals cannot be together?

Amen, Jordan. I have a Roman Catholic friend who, when I told her that the RCC catechism teaches that Catholics and Muslims worship the same god, did not believe me. She did (temporarily) see the irreconcilable differences between the character attributes of the Biblical God and the character attributes of “Allah”. But sadly, once she ascertained for herself that this was indeed the official teaching of the RCC (paragraph 841), she “toed the line” and agreed with her church. I have several Catholic friends and have tried so many times to show them the difference between what their church teaches and what the Bible clearly teaches, but they are so deeply indoctrinated/brainwashed that they refuse to see truth when it is right there in front of them. They are deceived, but willingly so. I know that their only hope is for God Himself to open their eyes, so this is my constant prayer. I also pray that when they are at “mass” on Sundays, that the Holy Spirit would convict them of false worship right in the middle of the rituals that they so love. Please keep speaking the truth on this subject, as so very many Christians are ignorant of what Roman Catholicism really is. Love your blog and also your contributions at The Cripplegate.

Wasn’t it the Catholic church who got in trouble with the federal government for denying adoption to gays and then the Catholic church also kept secrets about Catholic priests being gay?
      Kind of contradictory to me.

You know, I am always amazed why so many non-Catholics even care. Why do you preach on this? What difference does it make to you? I’m Catholic and I know for a fact that the Catholic Church RESPECTS all other religions. You may think you have a corner on salvation, but your narrow-mindedness bespeaks hypocrisy. You cannot say who is judged. We as Christians believe that Christ is the way, but there are people in the world who never hear the word and you would condemn them to damnation for that. Be careful what you preach, it may come back to bite you. Why not just spend your time being actually Christ-like. Speak love and peace, maybe you will actually get the meet the one you purport to follow. I would reqlly question who is the son of satan. Maybe it is you. Remember God is universal You don’t get to decide who he speaks to or how.

Hey Lynn, I understand what you are saying, the problem is that I have thought through the Gospel and its implications. Jesus talked about Hell more than Heaven. He said wide is the path that leads to destruction and many will find it. Narrow is the path that leads to life and few will find it. I would encourage you to visit my page “How to Go to Heaven” http://surrender.us/how-to-go-to-heaven/ and check out why I’m so “narrow minded” you’ll see that I ultimately believe that there are only two religions. Please check it out and if you have any question you can reply or fill out the contact form with any questions. Thanks for stopping by.

We must remember each person is an individual. Someone might get saved while being catholic and need you to come along side them and teach them things from scripture that are not in agreement with their church. I don’t care for church “bashing” but just always proclaim the truth. Jesus always approached people from where they were at. It takes a sensitive Christian to know how to approach someone from where they are. They may be “close to the kingdom” and just need your gently nudge. If not, and they are argumentative, then pray for them. Do all in love!

Hey Ellie I hear what you are saying and agree, if you ever go out evangelizing with me I am very gentle. It is so frustrating though to hear of so many Christians that call this Pope a brother in Christ and I believe they need to wake up to the truth. BTW Jesus constantly called out the pharisees and called them, brood of viper, children of Satan, whitewashed tombs, and more! He was gentle with those who had sincere questions! Thanks for commenting! btw Romans 3:10-23 would go against any idea that people are “close to the kingdom” God needs to awaken their heart through his word. And here’s the problem most Christians don’t evangelize Catholics because they wrongly (most of the time) assume them saved. Step one is recognizing there’s a problem, step two is fixing it. Posts like these are necessary sometimes to awaken the true church to do evangelism and not assume everyone is saved.
