Jonathan Edwards & Broken Resolutions Edwards recognized that, without the armor of Christ and the strength that God supplies, he could not win the spiritual battle. Apart from divine grace and the power of the Spirit, he could not make himself holy — no matter how many resolutions he made. As he wrote on April 7, 1722, “I know, O Lord, that without thy help I shall fall, innumerable times, not withstanding all my resolutions, how often soever repeated.”

How to Combat Domestic Violence in the Church Abuse is a deliberate attempt to gain control. You don’t overcome abusive behavior, then, by focusing on self-esteem or anger management. Abusers aren’t sick; they’re clever and driven by a desire to control.

Listen to the Reasons These Two Televangelists Give for Needing Their Own Private Jets: ‘We’ve Got to Have This!’  Two well-known televangelists defended their luxury jets late last month in part by contending it would be impractical to fly on a commercial airline “with a bunch of demons.” Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis argued on Dec. 29 during “Believer’s Voice of Victory” that having their own planes was vital to their work. Duplantis recalled a story where he was flying on an airline and had to unbuckle his seatbelt to speak to God. “You couldn’t have done that over an airline,” Copeland noted. “No sir, no way,” Duplantis agreed.
